Terrible Night

I seldom wish I can have the power to turn back clock, but this time is the exception...

Last Friday evening, we checked in Regal Airport Hotel happily. Just felt all so lucky that we got the thank-you-offer sponsored by KS's company. So we went there to enjoy the free 1-night room accommodation; daily buffet breakfast for 2; and one HKD500 signing privileges per room per stay at any of their restaurants and bars.
*
*
The deluxe room is superb, buffet dinner was superb too, things went on just fine until we returned to the room 2 hours later...I wish I have the power to turn back clock from this moment, just a few seconds is enough to change the history.

I wish we have had paid more attention not to let the kettle put too near to the edge of the mini bar's table, so that William couldn't reach it and play the on-button, and Vincent won't be scalded by the hot water when he tried to stop his brother. Then this accident would never happen at the first place.
*
*
I wish we had the knowledge to soak him into the cold water no matter how bad his skin had started to stripped off fast. If only we did this, then we had helped him to cool down his affected area in time and the scald won't be that severe.

The arrival of the ambulance seems like ages long. We all stood there helplessly, all I knew to do was just to hold him tight, trying to stop him from screaming hysterically and trembling.
*
*
My heart twisted in pain, seeing the expose fresh and blisters all over his chest and hands. The medical people wrapped him with gauze and transparent plastic quickly, then rushed him to the hospital immediately. My mind was blanked, I didn't know what to think at that time, I just wish I could have turned back the clock and all this was just a night mare.

When KS and Vincent were finally came home from the hospital, it was about 2 midnight. When Vincent saw me, the first thing he asked was : Mommy, have you brought back my shoes? I thought I would have cried to hear him complaining about the pain he has been through, but he made me laughed instead.

He fell asleep soon after I tucked him to bed on that night. The next morning, he was jumping and running around like he has forgotten everything already. Psychological wise, he seems to have recovered over night. Now, he leaves the wounds to us and the doctor to take care of. Just hope the scars will heal up as nicely as possible...

So sorry to hear this painful incident. My heart ached very much too, though not as much as you and KS do. Have faith, he will heal, I believe.

oh dear, you are right, should soak him in the cold water no matter how terrible the wound was. Leave it under running pipe water is even better. With kids around may be you shd keep some oilment, I had one very effective bought from yunnan or shenzhen. Hug.
